A new version of the 2014 Dodge Journey crossover will make its public debut next week at the 2014 Chicago auto show. Called the Crossroad, the new trim level wears what Dodge Brand president Tim Kuniskis calls, "rugged styling [that] gives it a tough presence on the road."
The most prominent change for the 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad is a new front fascia with a chrome trim strip that forms an n-shape below the grille. The headlight surrounds are tinted, and the grille and foglight surrounds are painted gloss-black. Moving toward the rear, Dodge applied 19-inch wheels, chrome roof rails, new side skirts, tinted taillights, and a new rear fascia that reprises the chrome seen at the front of the car. A "Crossroad" badge on the liftgate helps further differentiate the model.
Black leather upholstery with slate-grey stitching is standard on the interior of the Dodge Journey, along with a special liquid graphite trim for the instrument cluster, dashboard, center console, and steering wheel. Dodge's 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system and a power driver's seat are standard, along with push-button start.
The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad comes standard with a 2.4-liter inline-four engine rated for 173 hp, and front-wheel drive. Buyers can upgrade to a 283-hp 3.6-liter V-6 that comes with either front- or all-wheel drive.
The 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad goes on sale this spring. Positioned between the existing $24,290 SXT and $29,390 Limited models, it starts at $25,990 after destination.
