After announcing a new diesel engine option for the 2016 Range Rover Sport earlier this year, Land Rover is adding yet another version of this luxury SUV to the lineup. The 380-hp Range Rover Sport HST Limited Edition is a performance-oriented model that slots in between the base V-6 and the high-powered supercharged V-8.

The HST's 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine is essentially the same uptuned version of this powertrain that's in the Jaguar F-Type V-6 S coupe. It makes 40 extra horsepower compared to the standard supercharged V-6 in the Range Rover Sport SE and HSE. Its power output is still a far cry from the 510-hp V-8 in the Supercharged and Autobiography models, but the HST has a few other performance enhancements to set it apart.

The chassis is retuned for sharper responses and less body roll, and the brakes are upgraded over the standard Range Rover Sport. The HST also has 21-inch wheels with a dark satin grey finish; gloss-black trim for the hood, grille and fender vents; and all sorts of red badging to identify it as a special-edition model. The HST's interior also has slightly different trim package, with standard Oxford leather that contrasts with black trim for the center console and door panels along with sport pedals and textured aluminum trim throughout.

Land Rover has not yet announced pricing for the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport HST Limited Edition, but we would expect it to fit in somewhere between the $69,220 HSE and the $80,920 Supercharged. Look for more information on the 2016 Range Rover Sport lineup within the next few months after the HST model makes its official debut at the 2015 New York auto show.
